Pixar Animation Studios is producing the upcoming American animated television series Win or Lose for the streaming service Disney+. Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates wrote, directed, and produced it. They were executive producers alongside Lindsey Collins, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, and David Lally. Each episode depicts the viewpoint of each member in the same events, each expressed in a distinct visual manner.
The series offers a fresh take on middle school sports, following a co-ed softball team, the Pickles, in the lead-up to their championship game. However, what sets “Win or Lose” apart is its unique narrative structure: each episode revisits the same week from a different character’s perspective, showcasing diverse viewpoints and emotional journeys.
With each episode tailored in visual style and tone to match the character’s personality, the series promises to break new ground in animation storytelling. As Pixar takes this bold leap into serialized storytelling, “Win or Lose” is poised to captivate audiences of all ages, combining universal themes with a deeply personal touch.
When Does ‘Win or Lose’ Premiere on Disney+?
The Win or Lose Disney Plus release date is February 19, 2025. “Win or Lose” was initially set to premiere on Disney+ in December 2023. However, on November 15, 2023, it was announced that the release had been delayed to 2024. The series was then scheduled to debut on December 6, 2024. Interestingly, the release date swap occurred with another Pixar series, Dream Productions, which will now premiere on December 6, 2024.
Win or Lose will consist of eight episodes, which will be released weekly on Disney+. Fans can now look forward to the series’ new 2025 premiere date, marking the start of an exciting adventure that will unfold in a unique episodic format. The delays have only heightened anticipation for the series, promising a fresh and exciting release once it finally arrives on the streaming platform.
